Sara Furrer is a San Francisco native who has been active in the Bay Area music
scene since the 1980s. She switched from being primarily a vocalist to accompanying
herself on guitar in 1998. Though they've been together for thirteen years, Annette
Bianchi did not join Sara on stage until 2000. At that time, Annette, who has
trained as a classical ballerina and flautist, began experimenting with guitar
and harmonies. Annette favors Indigo Girls and Beatles-style harmonies. She and
Sara both enjoy working on traditional folk tunes, Beatles harmonies with an
occasional Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, and John Prine thrown in for variety.
At the urging of Sara's cousin, Lezlee Imnan-Miller, Sara and Annette joined
a holiday jam session held by George Miller, Lezlee's husband.
"It was the first time we had been to a 'George Jam,' but it won't be the last!"
exclaims Sara. "D.B. Pacini and Robert Peterson approached us about our harmonies.
They had a song they wanted us to listen to, a song they wanted to hear our harmony
work on. Now we are the vocalists for 'Dark Side of the Light.' We are happy to be
a part of this project and to be working with this core-group of creative artists."
Sara continues, "Being part of a community of musicians has brought us so much joy.
We support the Guitars Not Guns (GNG) program because it gives young people
opportunities not only to gain skills that will bring personal satisfaction, but
through music they can connect with others from a wide music spectrum throughout
their lives."
Sara has a CD titled "One More Page." For more information click on:
